's Wonderful - A Tribute to Anita O'Day & Oscar Peterson

  • Nina Reiter, voc.
  • André Weiss, p.
  • Tommy Fuller, b.
  • Peter Primus Frosch, dr.

With this tribute project, the distinguished jazz quartet led by vocalist Nina Reiter turns its attention to two icons of jazz history: the incomparable singer Anita O’Day and the legendary pianist Oscar Peterson. At the heart of the evening are the arrangements from the 1957 album Anita Sings the Most – with the Oscar Peterson Quartet.

Nina Reiter shapes the vocal part with stylistic clarity and a keen sense of rhythm, drawing on Anita O’Day’s precise phrasing and her playful approach to text and melody. André Weiss, on piano, incorporates key elements of the trio aesthetic shaped by Oscar Peterson without imitating it. Tommy Fuller (bass) and Peter Primus Frosch (drums) complete the ensemble as a well-coordinated rhythm section, bringing subtle drive and clear structure.

The tribute is not intended as a nostalgic retrospective, but rather as a contemporary engagement with two extraordinary artistic personalities whose music continues to resonate today—characterized by swing, precision, and a strong individual voice.
